Dracula Ballet West & FanX Costume Contest
Join us before the evening performance of Dracula on Friday, October 30 to participate in a SPOOK-tacular Costume Contest co-hosted with FanX! Show off your costume to a panel of expert judges from FanX as well as Ballet West's own Director of Costume Production, Jason Hadley. There will be FANG-tastic prizes for the winners. Plus, walk the BLOOD red carpet, get your photo taken by our professional paparazzi, and take home a FREE keepsake magnet of your professional photo. Judging Process

Judging will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Someone will direct you from the lobby.

Preliminary judging will be conducted by a panel of expert judges from FanX as well as Ballet West's own Director of Costume Production, Jason Hadley.

Participants must be in the judging line by 6:50 PM. The line will close promptly at 6:50 PM, and late entries will not be accepted.

Each participant must complete an entry form, provided at the Theatre. When you reach the judges, give your form directly to them for review.

The judges will select three finalists from each category.

Finalists will be invited to the front of the orchestra pit during the FIRST intermission, where the FanX MC and assistant will use a decibel meter app, along with audience response, to determine the winners.

Winners will receive their prize bags and redemption information.
Contest Rules
- Dracula is a family-friendly performance. Please be considerate of other attendees and stay aware of your surroundings.
- Hand-made costumes are not required, but are STRONGLY encouraged. We want to see your unique creativity and voice!
- Cover your body parts. “Paint” and “pasties” are not a costume. The costume should be no smaller than a standard swimsuit. Please make sure your costume is sturdily constructed; this includes proper undergarments.
- Simulated or costume weapons are allowed. All weapons must be easily distinguishable from real weapons and constructed from safe, lightweight material such as wood, plastic, foam, rubber, cardboard, paper, and thermoplastics (worbla, Sintra, etc.).
- Masks are allowed for the costume judging, but must be removed upon entering the theatre.
- If your costume has parts that will obscure the view of other patrons, we kindly ask that those pieces be removed after the judging as you head into the performance.
- All military, law enforcement, and other emergency service costumes should be easily distinguishable from official uniforms.
- Hate symbols, even historical hate symbols like swastikas, will not be tolerated.
- No recreational wheeled items, including Rollerblades, roller skates, bicycles, tricycles, scooters, skateboards, and hoverboards, are allowed.
