Jason Hadley

Director of Costume Production

 

Jason Hadley started dancing at the age of 3, and beginning when he was 8, he danced in Ballet West’s Nutcracker for 5 years. Jason was also part of the original production of Ballet West’s Abdallah.

 

Jason was one of the last male dancers to receive training under the guidance of Mr. C.  As an apprentice, he danced in Ballet West like Nutcracker, Cinderella, Rosalinda, Giselle, and Alice In Wonderland.

 

In 1996, Jason moved to New York City.  He then joined Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo in 1998. For seven years, until 2005, he extensively toured nationally and internationally in such theaters as The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Royal Albert Hall in London, the Chatelet Theatre in Paris, The State Theatre in Sydney, the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, and Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan, among others.

 

In 2005, Jason retired from ballet and began working at the prestigious Barbara Matera LTD Costume Shop. From 2005-2008, Jason worked in the Costume Shop and Wardrobe for The Public Theatre’s Shakespeare In The Park and he was also the assistant costume designer for the 2008 revival of Hair!

 

Also in 2005, Jason started working as a stitcher at the world-famous NYC Ballet Costume Shop.  He began as a stitcher and rose through the ranks to become the Costume Shop Manager. This role allowed him to collaborate with renowned designers such as Valentino, Carolina Herrera, Iris Van Herpen, Giles Deacon, Stella McCartney, Zac Posen, and Thom Browne.

 

In 2020, Jason took on the role of Director of Costume Production at Ballet West.
