Single Tickets ON Sale for Adam's 20th And Final Season as Ballet West Artistic Director
Season includes return of Dracula and retirement of two Principal Artists
SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 10, 2026) – Ballet West opens single ticket sales today for its 2026–27 season, the 20th and final season for Artistic Director Adam Sklute.
“I have chosen to celebrate my 20th anniversary with a season of audience favorites, renowned classics, and some unique contemporary gems that highlight the strength and diversity that have been the hallmark of Ballet West throughout my tenure,” said Sklute.
Leading the season is the return of Dracula, Ben Stevenson's technically demanding, large-scale production featuring more than 50 dancers, elaborate stagecraft, and effects that have made it a sold-out favorite with Salt Lake City audiences. Only a handful of companies nationwide are equipped to stage it.
Two Principal Artists to Take Final Bows in Dracula
Dracula's run, Oct. 23–31 at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City, will also mark the retirement of two Ballet West Principal Artists: Jenna Rae Herrera, closing a 19-year career with the Company, and Tyler Gum, retiring after 16 years. Herrera will join the faculty at Ballet West Academy; Gum has accepted the position of Assistant Artistic Director at Ballet Lubbock.
Next in Ballet West’s season is Rooster, with the Utah premieres of Christopher Bruce's Rooster set to the Rolling Stones classics and Ulysses Dove's Dancing on the Front Porch of Heaven.
The season continues with The Nutcracker, celebrating more than 60 years as a Ballet West tradition, followed by the legendary Don Quixote, and The Glass Slipper with the Family Classics Series.
The spring program, Carmina Burana, features Nicolo Fonte's Carmina Burana and George Balanchine's Symphony in C. The season concludes with Works from Within, an original program created by Ballet West's own dancers.
