SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC4) — Ballet West teamed up with the American Red Cross for a blood drive on Oct. 20, and a blood sucking icon showed up to encourage Utahns to contribute to the greater good.

According to Ballet West, the performer who plays Dracula, Tyler Gum, was in full costume at the drive, which happened at the capitol theatre in Salt Lake City Tuesday afternoon. There, Dracula greeted donors from the community and cheered on those giving blood.

After 16 years with Ballet West, Gum is retiring after the current run of Dracula is over, meaning that this may be one of the last chances to interact with him in character.
