Anna-Marie Holmes is with us to get to know the company for a project slated for next season.  While she’s here she’s coaching Sleeping Beauty principals for a few days.  Anna-Marie was coached by Dudinskaya and Fonteyn for the role of Aurora.

Sleeping Beauty – 3

We were able to get started with work on Sleeping Beauty during our Nutcracker run but tomorrow is the day we will really forge ahead and create the ballet in the studio.

Last week, I got to go with Adam Sklute to the costume shop/warehouse where they have also been working on the new Sleeping Beauty, for a little inspiration.

As with Swan Lake last season, Adam Sklute is re-imagining Ballet West’s existing production.  He’s done extensive research, has renamed certain characters and he’s adding many new costume and scenic elements.
