November 2, 3 & 7-10, 2012

Based on Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery* – one of the most famous short stories in American literature – this world premiere by former Ballet West resident choreographers Val Caniparoli tells the story of a quiet American town with a startling and frightening secret.  Commissioned exclusively by Ballet West and set to a new musical score by Robert Moran, The Lottery* promises to be both fascinating and terrifying.

April 5, 6 & 10-13, 2013

A Utah premiere in one evening-length production, this radiant production of Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds showcases George Balanchine’s masterful choreography and pays homage to the golden age of dance. Set to the music of Gabriel Fauré, Emeralds evokes France, the birthplace of Romantic dance. Poetic and flowing, its ballerinas drift on stage in clouds of tulle, whispering of elegance, fashion and fragrance.

Cinderella

Don’t miss the most famous curfew in history. Join Ballet West for the Utah premiere of Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella. This classic fairytale is filled with romance and comedy, mesmerizing dance, and fun for the entire family. With an enchanting score by Sergei Prokofiev, Cinderella is sure to add a touch of romance to your Valentine’s season.

Based on Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery – one of the most famous short stories in American literature – this world premiere by former Ballet West resident choreographers Val Caniparoli tells the story of a quiet American town with a startling and frightening secret.  This exciting triple-bill also includes the return of Nicolo Fonte’s critically acclaimed Bolero to music by Maurice Ravel.  Rounding out the program is the revival and reworking of Helen Pickett’s But Never Doubt I Love.
