On Friday, January 15, 2010, dancers and staff members of Ballet West visited Volunteers of America (VOA), Utah’s Homeless Youth Resource Center to drop off coats, hats and blankets donated by Ballet West patrons during the month of December. The coat drive was organized by Ballet West dancers and our sponsor Chevron. “In these hard economic times, we feel that it is very important to give back to the Salt Lake community that has supported us for so many years,” said Jennifer Robinson, Ballet West Company Artist. “We are pleased this year to partner with Chevron in our support of Volunteers of America’s Homeless Youth Resource Center.”
VOA’s Sam Stephens gave dancers Katie Critchlow and Jennifer Robinson, and staff members Ashlee Christofferson and Kristina Keene, a tour of the facility and thanked them for the generous donation. Ballet West dancers collected over 200 coats, hats and blankets for the Homeless Youth Resource Center during their drive and were touched by the Center’s commitment to the youth they serve.
