We have been subscription holders for Ballet West in Ogden. This year, Ogden brought in only had one performance (awesome, as usual). Today we went to see Swan Lake in SLC. We have decided not to let distance and weather keep us from seeing magnificent work like this was. Next year, we’ll hold subscription tickets for SLC. We just don’t want to risk missing performances like this one. The changes that were made to a ballet we have seen literally dozens of times, were so beautiful and haunting that it made it a totally new ballet. I didn’t think the traditional Swan Lake could be any better. I was very wrong. The performance we saw didn’t have most of the premier performers dancing. If what we saw was less than the top dancers, I can’t imagine what the others look like. Every dancer, from the starring roles down to the children were totally perfection. Thank you for an experience that will live with us for years.
