I’m looking forward to a rare two day weekend!
Today was all about SERENADE. We worked on it (Adam Sklute oversaw the rehearsals) and did two run-throughs. There will be two casts of Principals for the ‘Ballet Across America’ festival and Ballet West is very excited to return to the historic Opera House at Kennedy Center after so many years away.
I’m certain some SERENADE pix will be posted on the website soon so I’ll continue with my random amateur shots.
Enjoy!

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Mark Goldweber, the newest member of Ballet West’s artistic team. I came to Ballet West from Chicago with the new Artistic Director, Adam Sklute. I’m here almost a year now and I’m feeling quite like part of the family. Through the Ballet West Blog you will soon get to know many of the artistic staff as well as artists/dancers, costume people, music people, technical people, admin/production people and more.
This Monday we’re off to Kennedy Center to perform Balanchine’s SERENADE as the opening company of the ‘Ballet Across America Festival’. Some of the dancers and I will report to you from D.C. to let you know how all is going. After we return to SLC the dancers will go on their summer break and the Ballet West Academy will begin its summer session.
Since the season is winding down I thought that between now and Kennedy Center I would publish some random photos I’ve taken over the past year. Remember these photos are my simple, amateur shots.
Until the next post, cheers!
