Summer 2012 Audition Locations, Dates, and Times

In-person Auditions

For each scheduled audition, the option to choose that location as an audition location in the registration process will close at 3 pm (MST) of the Friday before that scheduled audition. You may then register in person at the audition location by filling out the application form provided by Summer Intensive Staff and paying the $25 non-refundable application fee (in exact change).

Videotape Auditions

Videotape or DVD auditions are acceptable for students that reside outside of Utah. Video auditions must be received by Feb 25^th to qualify for early  tuition rates.

Videotaped auditions should be recorded and submitted in DVD format; able to be played on PC format, (PowerDVD, Windows Media Player, or Quicktime). Please double check before Dvd is submitted.
Audition should be of a full class and must include:

• barre work
• grand adagio
• pirouettes (en dehors and en dedans)
• petit allegro
• allegro (i.e. assemble ballonne, ballotte)
• grand allegro
• pointe work (i.e. echappe, continuous releves in arabesque, pirouettes; en dehors and en dedans, bourrees)
• a short variation of choice (students age 15+)

Pointe work should include plenty of material to be able to judge technical ability. This is the area where most video submissions come up short.
