PEGGY DOLKAS - Auburn, California
Peggy Dolkas received her early dance training at the Auburn Academy of Dance under Sheila Humphreys. She graduated from the National Ballet School, and spent a two-year apprenticeship with the National Ballet of Canada.
Since joining Ballet West in 2003, Peggy has performed such highlights as Juliet in the world premiere of Jonas Kåge’s Romeo & Juliet, the Sugarplum Fairy in the Nutcracker, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora as well as the Bluebird Pas de Deux in the Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and Le Corsaire Pas de Deux.
Peggy was awarded the Peter Dwyer Scholarship Award in 1998, the Christopher Ondaatjie Ballet Prize in 2000, and was selected as one of the "Top 25 to Watch" in Dance Magazine in 2007.
