Training: Parou Ballet Company under Debbie Parou followed by Pittsburgh Youth Ballet under Gean Gedeon. Allison has trained under Melissa Allen Bowmen, Tamar Rachelle, Richard Bowmen, Ernest Tolentino, Melinda Howe, Suki Shorer, and David Howard. Allison spent the summer of 2002 at the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive in NYC. Allison also trained one year in the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Graduate Program. While at PBT she trained under PBT Artistic Director Terrance Orr, School Directors Marjorie Grundvig and Dennis Marshall, Maria Tcherkassky, Steven Annegarn, and Janet Popeleski. That year she danced roles in The Nutcracker which led to the opportunity to go on tour with the company to Baltimore, Maryland. She also had the opportunity to work with Viktor Plotnikov, where she originated a role in the world premiere of his Vivaldious Corelliana.
College: Allison graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in Ballet from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. While at Indiana University Ballet Theatre, Allison trained with Violette Verdy, Jacque Cesbron, Virginia Cesbron, Guoping Wang, Julie Kent, Susan Jaffe, Glenda Lucina, and Susie Pillar. Allison’s originated roles at IUBT include a Step-Sister in the world premiere of Jacque Cesbron’s Cinderella, the world premiere of Mark Godden’s Hymning Slews and the world premieres of John Clifford’s Rite of Spring and Glassworks. Other repertoire at IUBT include Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and George Balanchine’s Serenade and Four Temperaments.

Since joining Ballet West, Allison has toured to the Wolf Trap Theatre, Kennedy Center, Auditorium Theatre, Millennium Park, City Center and The Smith Center for Performing Arts. Allison was also a featured cast member on seasons 1 & 2 of the CW Docu-series Breaking Pointe. She has spent any free teaching Master Classes around the country. Places she has taught include the Joffrey School’s Summer Intensive in San Francisco, Ballet West, Broadway Dance Center, Lincoln Midwest Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Pittsburgh Youth Ballet amongst other regional companies and schools in Pennsylvania, Utah and Nebraska. Allison was the first guest to be invited by Ballet in Cleveland to teach master classes in Cleveland, OH and will be dancing with Rex Tilton for Ballet in Cleveland’s First Annual Gala in February 2014. She has also been invited to be a guest teacher for the Tennessee Dance Festival in October of 2014. She has been featured and interviewed by Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine, Pointe Magazine, Dance Track Magazine, Broadway World, OK! Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Dance For You Magazine (Germany), The Wall Street Journal, Starry Constellation Magazine, Fitness Magazine, and Dance Teacher Magazine. She was also the model for the Fall/Winter 2013 Grishko Pointe shoe ad featured in Pointe Magazine.
